About Tunnel of Hope
During the siege, a tunnel about 800 metres long was dug under the airport runway in 1993, linking the city to Butmir and bringing in food and supplies. The house that hid its entrance is now a museum, where you can walk a short stretch of the tunnel and see a film and exhibits. It is near the airport, about 30 minutes from the centre by taxi or tour.
